Publisher Description

This utility is a simple service that instructs Android to turn off the screen in those situations when you really don't want touches on the screen. The most annoying ones are when you're on headset and get an event or make/receive a call and the device stays on or even unlocked in your pocket after that. If it's faced towards your leg, it receives unwanted touches and is able to dismiss an event, a call or even initiate one. With the use of this service, the screen will always be off when something's in the device's proximity. You can configure the service to "fine tune" those situations.

You can find the sources on Google Code.
Device has to be equipped with proximity sensor.

Note that if you turn ongoing notification off, Android will kill the service from time to time when facing low memory situations and restart it later.
